About the Role

We're seeking a talented Digital Designer to join a financial derivatives marketplace's Product Marketing team in Chicago on a hybrid basis (3 days onsite per week). This is a 12-month contract role that blends world-class visual design with technical expertise and a ready-to-build mindset. You'll partner with a Senior Designer to create complex marketing campaigns, high-performing UI experiences, and motion-driven digital solutions. Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end digital campaigns in partnership with a Senior Designer, translating marketing strategies into visual concepts across web, social, email, and display channels
• Design sophisticated UI experiences using Figma with advanced architecture (auto-layout, variables, prototyping) and maintain design libraries and interactive prototypes that are accessible and developer-ready
• Design and implement motion-based deliverables including web-ready animations (Lottie/JSON) that enhance user engagement and ensure smooth developer implementation
• Take creative ownership of concepts, transforming ideas into multiple viable visual directions with minimal oversight
• Collaborate directly with copywriters, marketing managers, front-end developers, and other technologists, proactively sharing ideas and articulating design decisions aligned to marketing strategy
• Experiment with and implement AI-driven design tools to increase creativity, automate workflows, and build custom templates that improve team efficiency
• Serve as a brand steward who interprets guidelines creatively while pushing boundaries and maintaining brand integrity

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-end UI design, digital campaign work, and sophisticated web-based motion (Lottie animations, interactive prototypes)
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma with mastery of components, variables, and auto-layout
• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly Adobe After Effects for web-optimized animation
• Strong UX/UI instincts with understanding of how layout, interaction, and motion impact user conversion and flow
• Engineer mindset with ability to take initiative, independently research solutions, and bridge design and development
