About the Role

We're seeking a creative, organized, and energetic Marketing & Events Specialist to join our Dallas, TX team. This position combines hands-on social media management and content creation with event planning, vendor coordination, and community partnerships. Ideal for someone with 2–3 years of professional experience in marketing, events, or communications, this role offers the opportunity to grow your career while bringing Uptown's brand and experiences to life. You'll work with tools like Webflow, Salesforce, Mailchimp, and more to drive engagement and create memorable community experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Uptown Dallas Inc.'s social media platforms through content planning, creation, scheduling, publishing, and community engagement
  • Create engaging short-form video content, including Reels and other social-first formats
  • Develop and distribute monthly email newsletters and marketing communications
  • Plan and execute UDI's annual calendar of community programming, including signature events, wellness programming, networking events, and seasonal activations
  • Coordinate event logistics, vendor management, entertainment coordination, sponsorship fulfillment, and day-of-event management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for UDI's creative agency and public relations agency, coordinating project requests, timelines, and deliverables
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, community partners, vendors, and sponsors
  • Track marketing performance, maintain marketing calendars, process invoices, and prepare event reports and marketing recaps

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field preferred
  • 2–3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, events, hospitality, tourism, or a related field
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms, including photography and short-form video
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

Nice to Have

  • Experience with social media scheduling platforms, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency with marketing tools including Salesforce, Placer.ai, Webflow, or Mailchimp
  • Experience with event management and destination management software
