About the Role

Box 8 Creative is seeking a Senior Designer to join their talented team in New Haven, CT on a hybrid basis. In this full-time position, you'll lead design direction, mentor junior designers, and work across diverse projects—from Instagram graphics and packaging to complete brand identity systems. This role is ideal for an experienced designer with strong leadership skills, deep branding expertise, and proficiency in design tools including Adobe Suite, Figma, and Webflow.

Responsibilities

• Review and provide art direction on team and personal work, maintaining the highest design standards while fostering open feedback
• Mentor junior designers and interns while managing your own project assignments and timelines
• Collaborate with the team to refine concepts and push creative boundaries for optimal results
• Lead or collaborate on diverse projects spanning brand identity development, menu design, packaging, signage, and digital experiences
• Manage client relationships with accountability across multi-week and multi-month projects, including vendor and stakeholder communication
• Present and articulate design concepts clearly to both clients and internal team members

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating visual identities across brands with both print and digital examples
• Minimum 3-4 years as an in-house agency designer and 5+ years as a brand designer
• Mastery of Adobe Suite and Figma with Mac proficiency; ability to design for Squarespace, Webflow, and social platforms
• Deep knowledge of design principles with proven leadership, growth mindset, and ability to set examples for teams
• Excellent problem-solving skills, accountability, and comfort with tight turnarounds and varying project paces in an agency environment
• Strong communication and presentation skills with client management experience

Nice to Have

• Portfolio examples of menus, signage, or packaging design
• Copywriting skills or ability to articulate creative concepts and process effectively
• Illustration skills that enhance client brands
• Expertise in brand strategy and execution
• Knowledge of or passion for the hospitality, restaurant, and CPG industries
• Motion graphics experience
