About the Role

As a Senior Web Design Engineer at Absorb Software, you'll lead the construction of the marketing website, blending visual design and front-end engineering to create production-ready web experiences. This role is perfect for a browser-native web design engineer who works primarily in Webflow's visual development environment while maintaining strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript expertise. You'll collaborate across designers, content strategists, demand generation, and developers to shape the architecture and reusable patterns that elevate everything shipped on absorblms.com. This is a unique opportunity to make an immediate impact in a United States-based role focused on quality, accessibility, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Implement marketing website components, layouts, and pages in Webflow with high standards of HTML semantics, CSS quality, accessibility, performance, and visual polish
• Translate Figma designs into production web output, partnering with designers to refine responsive behavior, spacing, type, hierarchy, motion, and interaction details
• Own the quality bar for production web output by reviewing team work and establishing standards, patterns, and reusable components
• Build custom interactive components including Web Components and vanilla JavaScript modules where design craft and engineering intersect
• Optimize Core Web Vitals and page load performance through responsive image strategies, resource hints, render-blocking mitigation, and layout shift minimization
• Implement accessibility best practices including semantic HTML, heading structure, focus management, keyboard interaction, and appropriate ARIA usage
• Implement and QA A/B tests, personalization experiences, and conversion optimization experiments in partnership with marketing stakeholders
• Contribute to the architecture and reusable patterns of the marketing stack, including component design, CSS variable systems, and interaction patterns
• Partner with Content and Demand Gen teams as a technical resource for advanced layout, component, and interaction questions

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience building production web interfaces at the intersection of design and front-end engineering
• Deep proficiency in semantic HTML and modern CSS, including grid, flexbox, custom properties, container queries, logical properties, and full selector vocabulary
• Strong visual eye with the ability to translate Figma designs faithfully and refine spacing, type, hierarchy, alignment, imagery, and responsive behavior
• Working proficiency in JavaScript, including the ability to author Web Components and small interactive modules without a framework
• Practical understanding of web accessibility (WCAG) implemented as a matter of craft rather than checklist
• Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals and front-end performance, including image optimization, resource prioritization, and the critical rendering path
• Comfort working in visual web authoring tools like Webflow in addition to code editors, with a pragmatic view of choosing the right tool for the job
• Fluency in browser DevTools for layout, performance, accessibility, and network debugging
• Familiarity with Figma and Next.js applications

Nice to Have

• Experience with Webflow DevLink and shared component libraries
• Experience implementing simple motion and animation such as CSS transitions, menu interactions, and hover states
• Knowledge of component architecture and design systems
