About the Role

Short Story is seeking a Senior Webflow Developer & CRO Specialist in Florin, California to own the evolution of our eCommerce website. In this role, you'll be deep in Webflow every day, translating designs into high-fidelity pages, running experiments, and continuously improving conversion performance. You're obsessed with creating an evolving website experience, a master of implementation and strategic thinking who brings a CRO mindset to everything you build—not just executing designs, but identifying what to test and why. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who understands customer psychology and wants to drive measurable growth for a mission-driven brand.

Responsibilities

  • Own the implementation and ongoing maintenance of our Webflow-hosted website, ensuring pages are responsive, fast, and production-ready across all devices
  • Work directly with design and brand teams to build engaging web content and translate designs into high-fidelity pages with precision and care
  • Build systematic, reusable components aligned with our design system and ensure proper page structure for search engine crawlability, meta tags, and schema basics
  • Own the CRO experimentation roadmap by identifying opportunities, forming hypotheses, prioritizing tests, and implementing A/B and multivariate tests end-to-end
  • Monitor page performance, usability, and conversion behavior; catch issues and regressions before they impact customers
  • Validate that experiment events and conversion tracking fire correctly, analyze results, and iterate based on learnings
  • Partner with Growth and Design teams to align experimentation priorities with business goals and communicate tradeoffs clearly

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of hands-on Webflow experience with the ability to build complex, scalable pages with confidence and speed
  • Proven experience in conversion rate optimization, growth, or digital product optimization, ideally within eCommerce environments
  • Strong analytical foundation with hands-on experience designing, launching, and analyzing A/B and multivariate tests
  • Demonstrated success improving conversion rate, revenue per visitor, average order value, or other core performance metrics
  • Proficiency with experimentation platforms (e.g., Optimizely, VWO, Adobe Target) and analytics tools (e.g., GA4, Amplitude, Mixpanel)

Nice to Have

  • Experience optimizing high-traffic eCommerce websites or mobile applications
  • Exposure to UX research methodologies and the ability to translate insights into testable hypotheses
  • Familiarity with personalization strategies, segmentation, and AI-driven optimization techniques
