About the Role

Short Story is seeking a Senior Webflow Developer & CRO Specialist to join their team in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this role, you'll own the strategy and execution of our Webflow website while driving conversion rate optimization through experimentation and strategic thinking. This position is perfect for a developer who is obsessed with building constantly evolving customer experiences, combines technical mastery with a CRO mindset, and can translate design into high-fidelity, conversion-focused pages that move the needle on performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Own the implementation and ongoing maintenance of our Webflow-hosted website, ensuring pages are responsive, fast, and production-ready across all devices
  • Build engaging web content and systematic, reusable components aligned with our design system by working directly with design teams
  • Own the CRO experimentation roadmap — identifying opportunities, forming hypotheses, prioritizing tests, and implementing A/B and multivariate tests end-to-end
  • Validate experiment setup, ensure test variants are isolated and correctly deployed, and analyze results to drive iteration
  • Monitor page performance, usability, and conversion behavior while catching issues and regressions before they reach production
  • Optimize pages for search engine crawlability and indexing by maintaining proper structure, meta tags, page hierarchy, and schema basics
  • Partner cross-functionally with Growth and Design teams to align experimentation priorities with business goals and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of hands-on Webflow experience with demonstrated ability to build complex, scalable pages with confidence and speed
  • Proven experience in conversion rate optimization, growth, digital product optimization, or related performance marketing roles, ideally within eCommerce environments
  • Strong analytical foundation with hands-on experience designing, launching, and analyzing A/B and multivariate tests
  • Demonstrated success improving conversion rate, revenue per visitor, average order value, or other core performance metrics
  • Proficiency with experimentation platforms (e.g., Optimizely, VWO, Adobe Target) and analytics tools (e.g., GA4, Amplitude, Mixpanel)
  • Experience optimizing high-traffic eCommerce websites or mobile applications
  • Exposure to UX research methodologies and the ability to translate insights into testable hypotheses
