Job Description

About the Company

Short Story is an award-winning, technology-powered retailer dedicated to serving petite women 5'4" and under. With a mission to create a seamless shopping experience and foster effortless confidence through tailored products, the company combines data-driven insights with exceptional attention to fit. Backed by top investors and recognized by Forbes and Fortune, Short Story is revolutionizing retail as a fast-growing startup building the world's next great consumer brand.

About the Role

As a Senior Webflow Developer & CRO Specialist at Short Story in Yonkers, New York, you'll own the strategic evolution of our eCommerce website while driving measurable improvements in conversion performance. This is a hands-on role for someone obsessed with creating seamless customer experiences—you'll spend your days deep in Webflow, translating designs into high-fidelity pages, running experiments, and identifying optimization opportunities. You're a master of both implementation and strategic thinking, bringing a CRO mindset to everything you build, not just executing designs but questioning what to test and why.

Responsibilities

  • Own the implementation and ongoing maintenance of our Webflow-hosted website, ensuring pages are responsive, fast, and production-ready across all devices
  • Build engaging web content and systematic, reusable components aligned with our design system in close collaboration with the design team
  • Design, implement, and manage the CRO experimentation roadmap—identifying opportunities, forming hypotheses, prioritizing tests, and running A/B and multivariate experiments end-to-end
  • Ensure test variants are isolated, stable, and correctly deployed, with proper validation of experiment events and conversion tracking
  • Monitor page performance, usability, and conversion behavior to catch issues and regressions before they impact users
  • Optimize pages for search engine crawlability and indexing with proper meta tags, page hierarchy, and schema implementation
  • Partner cross-functionally with Growth and Design teams to align experimentation priorities with business goals and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of hands-on Webflow development experience—you can build complex, scalable pages with confidence and speed
  • Proven experience in conversion rate optimization, growth, or digital product optimization, ideally within eCommerce environments
  • Strong analytical foundation with hands-on experience designing, launching, and analyzing A/B and multivariate tests
  • Demonstrated success improving conversion rate, revenue per visitor, average order value, or other core performance metrics
  • Proficiency with experimentation platforms (e.g., Optimizely, VWO, Adobe Target) and analytics tools (e.g., GA4, Amplitude, Mixpanel)

Nice to Have

  • Experience optimizing high-traffic eCommerce websites or mobile applications
  • Exposure to UX research methodologies and the ability to translate insights into testable hypotheses
  • Familiarity with personalization strategies, segmentation, and AI-driven optimization techniques
