About the Role

The SEO Specialist will manage and optimize a diverse portfolio of client accounts in a fast-paced agency environment, collaborating with senior strategists to drive quality organic search performance for dental industry clients. This role combines technical SEO, content strategy, local SEO, and off-page optimization—requiring the ability to prioritize multiple accounts, troubleshoot performance challenges, and continuously refine tactics based on real-time data and algorithm updates. You'll work in a hybrid model from Wonderist's San Diego headquarters (at least two days per week on-site), where strong communication skills and the ability to explain SEO insights with confidence are essential. The ideal candidate thrives in an agency setting, stays ahead of industry trends, and is eager to implement innovative techniques to maintain clients' competitive edge in search rankings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute scalable, results-driven SEO strategies across a large, diverse portfolio of dental clients
• Conduct keyword research and develop content strategies to optimize web copy for SEO performance
• Implement technical SEO best practices including schema markup, site architecture, internal linking, alt text, and page speed optimization
• Execute local SEO strategies, including citation management, local keyword targeting, and Google Business Profile optimization
• Analyze performance data from Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Agency Analytics to measure SEO success and inform strategy adjustments
• Collaborate cross-functionally with web developers, content specialists, and paid media teams to deliver holistic and effective SEO strategies
• Stay proactive in monitoring SEO landscape changes and algorithm updates to maintain client competitive advantage

Requirements

• Proven experience managing SEO campaigns at scale in an agency environment
• Strong proficiency with SEO tools including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog
• Solid understanding of technical SEO, on-page optimization, local SEO, and off-page optimization strategies
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain SEO strategies and insights to clients and internal partners
• Experience with content strategy, keyword research, and website optimization
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive mindset with eagerness to stay current on SEO trends and implement innovative techniques
