About the Role

Square Waves is hiring a Webflow Website Designer to own projects from concept to launch, combining design sensibility with technical expertise to build top-tier websites. In this full-time role, you'll collaborate with clients to define architecture, style, and user experience—from initial mockups and information architecture through SEO strategy, CMS structure, and launch. This is an ideal opportunity for a Webflow expert who thrives in a fast-moving agency environment and wants to create websites that are both visually refined and technically robust. The position is remote or hybrid with preference for the Chicago area.

Responsibilities

• Build responsive, accessible, and conversion-focused websites in Webflow using best-practice class naming, reusable components, and production-ready structure
• Create sitemaps, wireframes, and information architecture in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders, presenting design directions and adapting based on feedback
• Manage DNS configurations, domain connections, and site launches with proper 301 redirects, version control, and SEO structure setup
• Implement Webflow Interactions and Animations that enhance user experience while implementing SEO/AEO fundamentals like meta tags, alt text, canonical URLs, and Google Search Console integration
• Set up automation and integrations via Zapier, Make, or direct API hooks to connect form submissions to CRMs and marketing systems
• Work closely with clients and internal teams through discovery, design, development, and post-launch phases, providing consultative input on UX and technical decisions
• Manage ongoing site updates, content changes, post-launch optimization requests, and troubleshoot issues in Webflow and connected systems
• Document build structures, component systems, and launch notes for internal handoffs and long-term maintenance

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience designing and building websites
• Proficiency in Webflow including CMS, Interactions, Class Systems, and Launch Workflow
• Experience mapping information architecture, creating wireframes, and building client-ready site maps
• Understanding of DNS, domain management, and how to safely update or troubleshoot records
• Working knowledge of SEO tools and fundamentals
• Experience with automation/integration tools like Zapier or Make, and connecting Webflow forms to CRMs or marketing systems
• Excellent design sensibility with proven ability to produce high-quality, on-brand visuals and strong communication skills for client collaboration

Nice to Have

• Experience in an agency environment managing multiple client projects
• Familiarity with other no-code platforms such as WIX, Squarespace, or WordPress
• Experience with Google Tag Manager, Analytics, or conversion tracking
• Understanding of A/B testing or personalization tools
• Light knowledge of HTML/CSS for troubleshooting edge cases
