About the Role

Wildfire is seeking an experienced SEO & GEO/AEO Specialist to join their digital marketing team. This is a full-time, remote/hybrid position (based in North Carolina) where you'll develop and execute advanced SEO strategies across on-page, technical, local, and content optimization—while staying ahead of how AI and generative search are transforming the industry. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on SEO experience, strong expertise with platforms like WordPress, Shopify, and Webflow, and a deep understanding of emerging search technologies like GEO and AEO.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies across on-page, technical, local, and content SEO
• Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, technical audits, and on-page optimization
• Develop SEO-focused content strategies, briefs, and recommendations for clients
• Manage content workflows and collaborate with writers, clients, account teams, project managers, and developers
• Review and optimize content for search intent, keyword saturation, rankings, usability, brand voice, and overall quality
• Optimize websites built on WordPress, Shopify, and Webflow for search performance
• Work with developers to communicate and implement technical SEO recommendations
• Develop GEO/AEO strategies to improve visibility, rankings, mentions, and citations within AI-powered search and LLMs
• Monitor SEO and AI search performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Communicate SEO recommendations and strategies to clients and internal teams

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional OSO (Organic Search Optimization) and SEO experience
• Strong hands-on experience with on-page, technical, local, and content SEO development
• Hands-on experience optimizing websites built on WordPress, Shopify, and Webflow
• Understanding of GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), AI search, and LLM visibility
• Strong writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience with GA4, Google Business Profiles, and Google Search Console
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while working independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with SEO tools such as SEMrush, Moz, BrightEdge, Otterly.AI, Conductor, BrightLocal, or Screaming Frog
• Knowledge of schema and structured data
• Familiarity with basic HTML and CSS
