About the Role

As SEO Manager, HVAC at Blacksmith Agency, you'll own the complete search strategy for a portfolio of HVAC and home service clients. This is a dedicated SEO role where you set technical roadmaps, define content priorities, and drive ranking improvements—with no split focus across paid media. You'll be the strategic voice clients turn to when they want to understand what moved in their rankings. This position is ideal for an experienced SEO professional who thrives on autonomy, loves working with multi-location service businesses, and wants to shape the future of AI-integrated search visibility.

Responsibilities

• Own technical SEO strategy including crawl optimization, indexation fixes, site speed improvements, schema markup, and site architecture
• Develop keyword strategy and on-page optimization plans, working with writers and AI tools to prioritize content production
• Build visibility across emerging AI search platforms including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, while maintaining classic organic rankings
• Manage link building, local SEO, and multi-location optimization for HVAC and home service clients
• Produce quarterly reporting using GA4 and Search Console data, and develop strategic roadmaps for each client
• Lead client calls to explain ranking movements and justify strategic recommendations

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience executing audits and implementing technical fixes
• Advanced proficiency with Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and either Ahrefs or Semrush
• Proven agency experience managing multiple clients simultaneously
• Clear, professional English communication for direct client calls with US-based teams
• Full-time availability for remote work from Canada, South Africa, or USA
