About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Web Development Manager to lead our web development team as we scale rapidly. In this remote role based in Chicago, Illinois, you'll manage a globally-dispersed team of mid- to senior-level developers while driving strategy, execution, and technical excellence across all web properties. This is a practice-facing position where you'll help our practices understand our approach to web development, combining hands-on Webflow and WordPress expertise with strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define web development roadmap aligned with business objectives and evaluate new tools, platforms, and technologies
• Build and maintain Webflow sites with pixel-perfect precision and execute complex website migrations with minimal downtime
• Delegate and assign tasks to junior developers, provide code reviews, feedback, and mentorship through regular 1:1s and team meetings across time zones
• Manage multiple concurrent projects from kickoff to launch, creating detailed project plans with timelines and communicating status updates to leadership
• Create and deploy automations (Zapier, Make, custom scripts, API integrations) to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
• Optimize QA processes, monitor site performance, SEO optimization, and accessibility standards across all web properties
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (design, marketing, product) and remove blockers to support team success
• Foster a collaborative, learning-oriented team culture and ensure all work maintains high quality standards before deployment

Requirements

• 8+ years of web development experience with 4+ years in a management role, including at least 5 years with Figma, Webflow, and WordPress
• Expert-level proficiency in Webflow and WordPress development and administration with a portfolio showcasing your work
• Extensive experience managing and mentoring mid- to senior-level developers and managing remote, globally-dispersed teams across time zones
• Proven expertise with complex website migrations (platform migrations, domain transfers, content restructuring) and ability to manage 20+ websites
• Strong command of web design principles, UX/UI best practices, SEO fundamentals, responsive design, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web performance optimization
• Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities for technical and non-technical stakeholders, and ability to confidently present information to practices
• Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with ability to move quickly without sacrificing quality
• Local to the Chicagoland area or proximate with ability to travel for in-person workshops
