About the Role
Growth Plays is hiring SEO Managers with 3+ years of agency experience to join their team in the United States. This is a new role reporting to the Director of Technical SEO, ideal for execution-focused professionals who love diving into technical SEO work on Webflow, WordPress, and modern frameworks. You'll be a doer who produces tangible results—collaborating closely with leadership and account managers to deliver high-impact SEO solutions on time and to specification.
Responsibilities
- Produce comprehensive SEO audits, technical site audits, and performance reports for assigned client accounts
- Execute domain and CMS migrations while maintaining technical site health and SEO performance
- Investigate complex technical SEO issues, develop solutions, and present findings to clients with clear implementation recommendations
- Create and monitor project management tickets to ensure SEO fixes are scheduled, implemented, and resolved by client web teams
- Monitor technical site health across all assigned accounts using tools like Ahrefs and alert account managers to critical SEO issues
- Run SEO experimentation for client accounts and track results
- Attend client calls to review technical SEO issues and provide actionable, easy-to-implement solutions
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on, agency-side SEO experience with proven track record of executing audits, experiments, and technical implementations
- Deep expertise in technical SEO (crawling, rendering, indexation, site speed, internationalization) and on-page optimization
- Demonstrated ability to deliver tangible, measurable traffic growth and recovery results with detailed case studies
- Experience working with Webflow and WordPress sites; comfort with modern frameworks and headless CMSs is essential
- Proficiency with SEO tools including GA4, Google Search Console, Looker Data Studio, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and SiteBulb
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders; ability to clearly explain recommendations and build alignment
- Strong attention to detail, ability to QA your own work for accuracy, and capacity to manage multiple projects independently while meeting deadlines
Nice to Have
- Experience with React-based frameworks (Next.js) and headless CMSs (Sanity, Contentful)
- Proficiency with Google Apps Script to automate repetitive work
- Experience supporting domain and CMS migrations for sites with thousands of pages
- Comfort writing and QA'ing redirect rules affecting hundreds or thousands of pages
- Ability to understand and evaluate HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as it relates to SEO
- Basic understanding of regular expressions
- Experience with Google Tag Manager
- Familiarity with ClickUp for project management
- Experience using AI responsibly to identify inefficiencies and automate manual tasks
- Deep expertise in Google Sheets
