About the Company

About the Role

As an SEO Strategist, Roofing at Blacksmith Agency, you'll own the complete search strategy for a portfolio of roofing clients operating across multiple markets. This is a dedicated SEO role—search is your only focus, with paid media handled by a separate strategist. You'll be the strategic voice at the table, making key decisions on technical roadmaps, content priorities, and ranking strategies while reporting directly on results to clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical SEO across client sites, including crawl optimization, indexation, site speed, schema markup, and site architecture.
• Develop and execute keyword strategy, on-page optimization, and content priorities, collaborating with writers and AI tools to produce optimized drafts.
• Expand client visibility in AI search platforms including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, while maintaining strong classic organic search rankings.
• Build and manage link acquisition, local search optimization, and multi-location SEO strategies for roofing contractors and similar businesses.
• Track performance in GA4 and Google Search Console, deliver quarterly reporting, and build strategic roadmaps for each client.
• Present findings and strategy recommendations on live calls with US-based clients.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience managing crawl audits, technical fixes, and strategy implementation.
• Expert proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and either Ahrefs or Semrush.
• Proven agency experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously.
• Clear, fluent English for professional communication on live client calls.
• Full-time availability, remote position (Canada, South Africa, or USA).

Nice to Have

• SEO experience in the roofing industry or other multi-location service businesses.
