Senior Forward Deployed Engineer
Job Description
About the Company
Webflow is the agentic web marketing platform for modern marketing teams, helping organizations build, manage, and optimize high-performing web experiences that drive predictable growth and strengthen brand trust. Building at Webflow requires grit—we move fast without ever sacrificing craft or quality, and we're pioneering what production-grade agentic web operations looks like at scale.
About the Role
We're hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to help shape what great agentic web operations look like in production and turn those learnings into lasting platform value. You'll be one of the first at Webflow to work with real enterprise accounts on live, first-of-kind deployments, reporting to our Director of Solutions Architects. This remote-first role (United States; BC & ON, Canada) sits at the intersection of product, sales, and engineering—where your work directly influences Webflow's platform roadmap. You'll work through production constraints, design agentic workflows at scale, and build the blueprints that define how enterprises leverage AI and automation on Webflow.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with strategic enterprise accounts to map business-critical marketing and web workflows
- Design and build agentic workflows using Webflow APIs, CMS, components, and emerging AI capabilities
- Build integrations between Webflow and external platforms (ad platforms, analytics, CRM, DAM, data pipelines)
- Implement human-in-the-loop safeguards, observability, rollback paths, and permission boundaries from day one
- Ensure every deployment holds up under production traffic, governance scrutiny, and real-world constraints
- Document where agentic workflows break down and identify which friction is systemic versus customer-specific
- Create reusable architecture blueprints, reference implementations, and shared learnings after every engagement
- Collaborate pre-sale to de-risk complex AI or integration concerns for strategic accounts
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience in solutions engineering, forward deployment, or customer-facing technical roles
- Strong working knowledge of AI, APIs, automation, data pipelines, and integration architecture patterns
- Strong front-end fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks
- Experience designing and supporting systems that manage live web properties at scale
- Experience with workflow automation tools (n8n, etc.)
- Proven track record working through ambiguity, scoping projects, and delivering in first-of-kind contexts
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed for embedded engagements
Nice to Have
- Experience with or genuine curiosity about agentic AI systems, LLM orchestration, and autonomous workflows
- Familiarity with Webflow or similar visual development and CMS platforms
- Product intuition and experience knowing when to generalize versus customize a solution
- Comfort working within production constraints and communicating trade-offs clearly
Benefits & Perks
- Competitive compensation: Base salary tailored to geographic market (Zone A: $158,300–$190,000 USD; Zone B: $148,300–$178,000 USD; Zone C: $140,000–$168,000 USD)
- Bonus eligibility: Participate in Webflow's company-wide bonus program with target amounts as a percentage of base salary, based on company performance
- Remote-first work: Work from anywhere in the United States, BC, or ON, Canada (with in-person onboarding in San Francisco, CA)
- Full-time, permanent position with exempt status
