Avengr

ContractBaltimore, Maryland, USWebflow Developer

Job Description

About the Company

Avengr is a web design and digital marketing studio based in Franklin, Tennessee that specializes in building and maintaining websites primarily in Webflow. The team manages approximately 25 client websites on monthly care plans and is looking for a dedicated developer to handle the day-to-day maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting that keeps those sites running smoothly.

About the Role

As a Website Maintenance Developer at Avengr, you'll own the complete lifecycle of client website care—from routine updates and monthly health checks to critical troubleshooting and performance optimization. This is a perfect role for someone who loves the technical side of web development and takes pride in keeping sites live, fast, and secure across Webflow, WordPress, and other platforms. You'll work with a lean team that trusts you to manage priorities independently, communicate proactively, and handle everything from content updates to DNS configuration. Based in Baltimore, Maryland (or remote in the US), this position offers the opportunity to grow from 25 hours per week toward 30–40 hours as you prove yourself.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily request queue including content updates, CMS items, blog posts, image swaps, and team bio changes
  • Execute monthly care plan checks on all client sites: platform and plugin updates, form testing, broken link detection, image optimization, backups, and PageSpeed audits
  • Troubleshoot and resolve critical issues including errors, plugin conflicts, form delivery failures, DNS problems, and slow page performance
  • Monitor uptime, manage backups, and handle host transfers across multiple platforms and hosting providers
  • Implement technical SEO and AI search (AEO) fixes based on audits from tools like Ahrefs and HubSpot
  • Identify and recommend improvements when you spot performance or functionality opportunities
  • Document all tasks with clear write-ups and time entries in Asana or BugHerd for client reporting
  • Work across diverse platforms including Webflow, WordPress, Cloudflare, GitHub, Vercel, Google Tag Manager, GA4, Search Console, and form tools like Basin and Mailgun

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining client websites
  • Strong Webflow expertise including CMS collections, components, interactions, publishing, hosting, and bandwidth management
  • WordPress knowledge beyond the dashboard: staging-first updates, PHP versions, memory limits, error log reading, and backup restoration
  • Solid understanding of DNS, domains, SSL, and email/form delivery (Cloudflare, registrars like GoDaddy and Namecheap, SPF/DKIM)
  • Hands-on experience using Claude Code or similar AI coding tools, with the ability to explain changes clearly to clients and project managers
  • Strong written and spoken English with attention to detail on all client-facing work
  • Consistent weekly availability with at least 4 hours of overlap during 9am–5pm US Central time, and a proven ability to pick up new platforms quickly

Nice to Have

  • Portfolio of full site builds demonstrating design knowledge (Figma to Webflow, Figma to WordPress)
  • Experience with Shopify, Squarespace, or Wix
  • Familiarity with Basin, Zapier, Make, HubSpot, Zoho, or GoHighLevel
  • GitHub, Vercel, Cloudflare Workers, Supabase, Next.js, or headless CMS experience like Strapi
  • Google Tag Manager, GA4, Search Console, Ahrefs, and technical SEO knowledge
  • Prior support experience at a managed WordPress host or website care agency
  • Experience with Asana, BugHerd, or Slack
  • Google Workspace admin capabilities

Benefits & Perks

  • Independent contractor position paid hourly in USD, with rate based on experience
  • Start at 25 hours per week on a fixed schedule, with room to grow toward 30–40 hours
  • US Central time work schedule with no overnight shifts required
  • Paid trial period for finalists before offer stage
