About the Role
We're hiring a WordPress Front End Developer to enhance and maintain a major sports ticketing site for a leading organization. This contract-based, 100% remote role is perfect for a developer who combines strong front-end expertise with a passion for building scalable, branded solutions. You'll work with partner integrations like Ticketmaster, create intuitive tools for non-technical users, and ensure exceptional performance during high-traffic events. Based in the Ontario/Toronto region, you'll collaborate with design, marketing, and partner teams to deliver WordPress solutions that prioritize usability, SEO, and conversion.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive WordPress sites with clean, efficient code
- Build custom themes, plugins, and admin interfaces that empower non-technical users to easily update logos, content, and branding assets
- Manage QA/staging environments and integrate bug monitoring tools (e.g., Sentry) for quick issue detection
- Implement Ticketmaster API integration to enable dynamic "Buy Tickets" buttons with conversion tracking
- Integrate click-through tracking and analytics for marketing attribution and ROI measurement
- Ensure SEO best practices, GEO-targeting, and cross-browser compatibility across all sites
- Collaborate with design, marketing, and partner teams to align site updates with campaigns
- Monitor site performance during key events and keep all branding assets current and optimized
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in WordPress development
- At least 5 years' experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong proficiency in PHP and WordPress theme/plugin development
- Experience building custom WordPress admin interfaces for non-technical users
- Skilled in QA environment management and bug monitoring tools (e.g., Sentry)
- Experience with third-party API integrations, especially Ticketmaster or similar ticketing platforms
- Knowledge of click-through tracking and analytics implementation; strong SEO and site optimization skills
